Free Sail Rides on the Hudson; Art Exhibit in Peekskill

There are tons of ways to keep busy around Cortlandt and Peekskill this weekend, and we're here to help you decide which happenings are for you.

Free Sail Ride at Hudson River Day

When: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday

Where: Croton Yacht Club at 6 Elliot Way in Croton-on-Hudson

Why go? As part of the Croton Yacht Club's River Day and the Hudson River Valley Ramble, Ferry Sloops will be offering free sail rides at the Croton Yacht Club. The free hourly sails are on a "first come, first served" basis. No reservations will be accepted prior to the sail day. Guests can to sign up at the Ferry Sloops table in the tent beginning at 10 a.m. for any of the day's scheduled sail times (limit of 4 passengers per sail).

Grounded by Artists Jessica and Douglas Nash - Opening Reception
When: 4 p.m. Saturday
Where: The Peekskill Coffee House at 101 South Division Street in Peekskill
Why go? Husband and wife artists Douglas and Jessica Nash will open up their show, which is entitled Grounded. Expect divergent views of nature and perception via paint and photography, plus lots of layering and surreal scenes. The couple has been married for a little more than a year.


Half Way to St. Patrick’s Day Mary Alice Murphy Memorial Hudson River Cruise
When: 6 p.m. Saturday
Where: Cold Spring Dock
Why go? Celebrate the fact that St. Patrick's Day is just six months away by taking a scenic cruise along the Hudson River. There will be dinner and entertainment.
