Troopers in Cortlandt Arrest 2 on Larceny Charges

State police at the Cortlandt barracks have made two larceny arrests in recent days, following three incidents of theft last month.

Here are the details:

  • Officials arrested a 56-year-old Ossining woman at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Kohl's department store in town. She "reportedly passed all points of sale, without making an attempt to pay for the item that she is being charged with stealing." The woman, who is due in Cortlandt Justice Court Sept. 20, was charged with misdemeanor petty larceny.
  • A 23-year-old Yorktown woman is accused of concealing items in her purse at ShopRite in town and passing "all points of sale without making an attempt to pay for the items," the loss prevention team told police. Police charged her with misdemeanor petty larceny at about 1 p.m. Friday. The defendant is due Sept. 27 in Cortlandt Justice Court.
