Hen Hud Business Leaders Make a Splash at States

Hendrick Hudson High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) members attended the FBLA New York State Leadership Conference in Rochester, from April 8 through 10.

Two members were recognized at the conference: Jazz Munitz received the FBLA Humanitarian Award for his charity work specifically with Soles for Souls, and Emily Barthelmes came in second in the Desktop Publishing competition, where she created an advertisement and book jacket using Photoshop and Publisher and taking a written test.  Emily has qualified for FBLA nationals in June, where she will compete against other FBLA members from around the country.

Teacher Meg Jandrasits advises the group. HHHS business computer teacher Maura Koch, says, “FBLA has traveled to this conference since 2001, and, under Meg’s direction, has had students continuing to the National competitions after having qualified at the State competition. We also have Business students selectively chosen to attend a premier summer Business academy at Mercy College for this second upcoming summer.”
