The Hendrick Hudson School District is committed to providing a rigorous and dynamic education for each of our students, every day, in every classroom. The Board of Education and administration are committed to a multi-year planning process based upon a detailed Strategic Plan. The District offers full-day kindergarten, a full array of special education and enrichment opportunities, an integrated instructional technology plan with state-of-the-art library/media centers in all schools, and engaging programs in music, drama, and visual arts.

Our award-winning High School offers a comprehensive program of honors, A.P. and college level courses in a full Regents program with special education services provided where needed. With a strong focus on both college and career readiness, our Guidance Department provides academic, personal and career counseling, and college placement, as well as a supportive Learning Center and a range of academic intervention services. Students may choose to participate in 40 interscholastic sports teams and extracurricular activities, including a nationally ranked debate team, award-winning choral groups, band and orchestra, mathletes, newspaper, literary magazine, drama, art, science and foreign language clubs.

Blue Mountain Middle School emphasizes student responsibility in its academic program. A Unified Arts Program, general and instrumental music, foreign languages, performing arts, guidance program, intramural and interscholastic sports and co-curricular activities are provided, along with wellness programs that focus on the many issues facing today’s young teens

Three elementary schools provide students in grades K through five with programs aligned with state and federal standards -- promoting academic, social, emotional and physical development, all within a warm and welcoming framework. Children are grouped heterogeneously, with differentiated learning in math and reading – ranging from AIS to gifted programs. Special instruction is offered in art, computers, general and instrumental music, physical education and library skills. Cultural Enrichment Programs include shows, speakers, and “hands-on” demonstrations.
