The Blue Mountain Middle School Eighth Grade Band, under the direction of Amy Richter, was awarded a gold medal at the 2014 New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Majors Festival, held on May 22nd at Fox Lane High School in Bedford.
The band performed "Tall Cedars" by Osterling, "Grant County Celebration" by Williams, and "Russian Sailors' Dance" by Gliere/Williams. This is the fifth consecutive NYSSMA gold medal earned by the Blue Mountain Band.
The Hendrick Hudson School District salutes Ms. Richter and all of the participants.
