Elena Marinaccio, Neighbor

Elena Marinaccio fled the mean streets of Westchester at 19 to spend a year listening to David Bowie and not making friends in Boston. Since then she’s lived in interior Alaska, West Texas and Chicago, where she’s written and photographed extensively.  

Her career as a journalist spans everything from covering Gov. Sarah Palin’s run for the white house in 2008, to LGBT issues in the heartland, to the Tribeca Film Festival. She’s also written at length about popular music and not-so-popular film.

Elena once emptied the balance of her scrawny bank account to fly to Memphis and see Tom Waits perform at the Orpheum Theater. She currently lives in Cortlandt with her husband, daughters and dog.
