Don't Miss: Huge Lego Display, Wine Event for Hen Hud Library Anniversary

There are tons of ways to keep busy around Cortlandt and Peekskill this weekend, and we're here to help you decide which happenings are for you.

This week we're spotlighting two great events that mark the 75th anniversary of the Hendrick Hudson Free Library, located at 185 Kings Ferry Road in Montrose. Both will benefit the children's room.

Here are the details:

  • LEGOFest — This 300-square-foot LEGO display—which takes more than a week to build—will feature whimsical scenes complete with puns and surprises, organizers say. Kids of all ages are welcome. There will be "seek and find" challenges and raffles of LEGO sets, too. It's happening from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $7 ($5 online at henhudlego.ticketleap.com; more than 200 people have already bought theirs). Teens are invited to enjoy some pizza while helping to put the finishing touches on the creation Friday night at 6 (click here for more details, including information on how to register).
  • Wine Pairing — Chef David DiBari of The Cookery in Dobbs Ferry will lead this event, pairing great wines with tasty foods. It's taking place Sunday evening at 6 in the Constance Dyckman Community Room. The cost is $75 per person or $125 per couple. DiBari is a Hendrick Hudson High School graduate.
"When we first started to think about how we might like to celebrate 75 years of community service we knew we wanted a family event and an adult event," Library Director Jill Davis said. "LEGO was easy as we had seen it done in Larchmont with great success. The wine pairing seemed fun, not to mention that Chef David DiBari is a Hendrick Hudson High School graduate. We love to have programs around people from our community who made a difference."
