Peekskill's Yellow Daffodil Trail

Peekskill volunteers create a new kind of yellow pathway in the city.

Peekskillians take pride in claiming ownership of the yellow brick road that to have inspired L. Frank Baum in writing the Land of Oz. But now residents can be proud of a new yellow pathway in the city, a trail of daffodils.

The new burst of yellow throughout the city is thanks to the efforts of the Peekskill Garden Club and merchant contributions. Last fall the Club planted 8,000 bulbs from the train station to the high school, which then resumes at the city border on Route 6, according to Myra Marsocci, of the Garden Club and the owner of the Shades of Green.

Thanks to everyone who planted the beautiful flowers!
