Chuck McGreal Honored by Ancient Order of Hibernians

The owner of Peekskill's new and Hibernian Millwork Cathal "Chuck" McGreal, will be celebrated by the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 18 at their Annual Thanksgiving Dinner Dance this Saturday, Nov. 1.

“We are proud to honor one of our own, Cathal McGreal," said Division 18 President Aidan O'Kelly-Lynch. "Division 18 is one of the the most dynamic AOH Divisions in the Hudson Valley. In the last three years Division 18 has helped establish the Hudson Valley Irish Fest, opened up a Hibernian Hall at the Hudson Valley Irish Center at 210 6th Street in Verplanck, doubled its membership and has been instrumental in the establishment of Division 18 of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians.”

McGreal is a native of Westport,  County Mayo, Ireland who upon emigrating to the US, established himself as a master at millwork and design and resides in Cortlandt Manor, NY. McGreal is the owner of Hibernian Millwork in Peekskill. His work is featured in many of the finest Tri-State area clubs, restaurants, estates and stores, including The Grand Havana Room, Smith & Wollensky and Abercrombie & Fitch. This year, McGreal opened and it has quickly become the crown jewel of the rejuvenated "Restaurant Row" in Downtown Peekskill. The Quiet Man Public House is a labor of love and is the culmination of years of crafting first class establishments. 

McGreal is active in many charitable efforts and Irish-American organizations including the Peekskill St. Patrick’s Committee as an officer and annual Dinner Chairman. He is the incoming Vice President of Peekskill, Division 18 and Treasurer of the AOH Westchester County Board. In 2009, McGreal was one of the lead organizers of the first annual Hudson Valley Irish Festival at Peekskill’s Riverfront Green and is Vice Chairman of the Festival and it's Irish American cultural and heritage center, a not for profit charitable and educational trust.

The Annual Thanksgiving Dinner Dance will be held Saturday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. at The Cortlandt Colonial, 5714 Albany Post Road in Cortlandt Manor. 

The Dinner will be preceded by a special Mass at Assumption Church at 5pm. Fine Irish music will be provided by Frank O'Brien and his band. Cocktails at 7pm, followed by dinner and dancing. Dance Chairman is Bernard Keaney.
