Westchester County Grievance Tax Day is here

Everything you need to know about local real estate from an expert Realtor.

Just a reminder to you home owners: the filing period for grieving the property taxes on a property located in Westchester Towns and most Cities starts next week, June 1 and ends June 15th (the deadline to get them in is the 3rd Tuesday in June)!

If you have been mulling this over or have a plan in place, this is the time whether commercial or residential. If you or know anyone know any property owners (residential or commercial) who may be interested in reducing their property taxes, and need a tax certiorari call me for a referral.

Typically, a tax certiorari will do a free initial analysis to determine if there is a case for reduction, and fees are contingent upon the outcome.

Having your assessment lowered will reduce your taxes, but you have to make to take the time and effort to prove your case, and its worth it. If you are a seller, by starting the process of grieving could be just what your home needs to differentiate from the other homes on the market. Sellers may think, “whats the point in doing it now?”, however those picky buyers will definitely see it as a major plus.
