The Section 1 Class A tournament is to begin with out-bracket games today, including Hendrick Hudson and Walter Panas (see below for schedule).

Thomson has Peekskill's Kyree Hull and Chandler Pierce as MVP candidates.
Girls basketball
defending Class A state champion girls squad will also get in the action as it is participating in the Section 1 Class A tournament and LoHud's Rob Cristino and Yaron Weitzman preview it here.
They feel that Peekskill's first-round contest against John Jay has the potential to be the best opening-round matchup and have Red Devil all-state guard and Hofstra-bound Asia Jackson as an MVP candidate.
John Jay is led by its school's all-time leading scorer in hoops (boys and girls) in Raegan Knox, a Con-Ed award winner whose outside shot is smooth as silk.
Knox is also a tourney MVP candidate, according to LoHud.
Hendrick Hudson and Walter Panas are also in the tournament, playing out-bracket games today. See below for schedule.
Peekskill bowling rocks
Peekskill's boys bowling squad has had a dream season as it won its league title in dominating fashion.
