Panthers get revenge

After losing to Lakeland in its tournament championship game, ' girls hoop squad defeated the host Hornets 34-33 in a thriller Dec. 22.

Rachel Myers scored the game-winning hoop for the Panthers with .4 seconds remaining.

Heather Kelly led Panas with 19 points while Lakeland's Alex Pappalardo and Emily Alicea shared team-high honors with 10 points apiece.

 

So do the Tuskers

Last year Peekskill, on its way to its first girls state basketball crown in school history, beat Somers in the quarterfinals of the Section 1 Class A tournament 74-44.

This year it was the Tuskers turn to win as it beat visiting Peekskill 50-36 Dec. 22.

Asia Jackson led the Red Devils with 13 points.

Sailors fall to Pawling

Pawling defeated visiting Hendrick Hudson 6-1 in ice-hockey Dec. 20.
