Peekskill Schools to Dedicate Jason C. Paige Health and Fitness Center

Dedication ceremony scheduled to take place Tuesday at the Peekskill High School.

A dedication ceremony for the  Jason C. Paige Health and Fitness Center will be held Tuesday at the Peekskill High School.

The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., prior to the start of Tuesday’s school board meeting. The high school is located on 1072 Elm St. 

Paige, who died from a heart attack at the age of 39 in 2010, was hired as an attendance officer for the school district in 2006 and was eventually promoted to the position of attendance teacher.

Prior to his stint with Peekskill school, Paige served in the US Marine Corps and as an auxiliary sergeant with the Peekskill police department. In 2001, he went on to become an officer with the New York City Police Department.

Paige was also real estate broker and the owner of Paiges in Real Estate; a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Peekskill, New  York; co-founder of the Peekskill Division of Pop Warner Football League; a member of the African American Men of Westchester; and an advisor of the Peekskill High School Black Culture Club.
