Hen Hud Modified Baseball Team Plays at Dutchess Stadium

The Sailors beat Beacon's team 4-0

Press release from : On Saturday, April 21st, the Hen Hud Modified Baseball team had the unique opportunity to play their game at Dutchess Stadium, home of the Hudson Valley Renegades.  The Sailors beat Beacon’s Modified team 4-0.  The Sailors played a flawless game with no errors and seven hits.

 8th grader Matt Marussich pitched a complete game shutout, allowing only three hits in seven innings and striking out 11 batters.  7th grader Joe Grullon was 1-2 with an RBI triple and two runs scored.  8th grader Matt Vigliotti was 2-3 with an RBI and 8th grader Luis Javier had an RBI suicide squeeze bunt.  Defensively, 7th grader Pat McGovern and 8th grader A.J. DiSisto each made momentum-changing plays in the field. 

Coach Van Vourliotis was proud of his team’s efforts, saying, “The opportunity to play at Dutchess Stadium on a professional field was a wonderful and memorable experience for the student-athletes and our fans.  I am proud of the way they did their job, competed, and how they represented the Hendrick Hudson School District.”
