Peekskill-Cortlandt Patch Home of the Week: Feb. 24 Edition

Columnist Joel Heumann with his weekly take on gems in the local housing market.

This week's “Home of the Week” is a property many of us drive past almost every day. 2024 Crompond Road is a columned Georgian beauty that stands out on the north side of Route 202 at the intersection of John Dorsey Drive.

Built in 1817, it has 5,500 square feet of living space and occupies almost a full acre, set back on a corner lot. Each of its four bedrooms has its own full bath, and there's a guest powder room on the main floor. The formal dining room opens into a 20' x 50' family room. There's a professional work permit, so the owner can work from home. Ideal for the right professional!

I'd like to take a moment to commend Realtor May Anderson for using a professional photographer to capture the beauty of this home. I scan through hundreds of photos every week, deciding which property to feature. What catches my eye? Good photos. The same holds true with prospective buyers; good photos are the first thing that helps people decide to consider a home. Suffice it to say that many Realtors just don't “get it”. May Anderson does.
