Woman Due in Cortlandt Court for Check Fraud

A 21-year-old Brewster woman is due in court after she allegedly stole and forged checks from her parents.

 

A 21-year-old Brewster woman is scheduled to appear in Cortlandt town court next week after she allegedly forged $7,500 worth of checks from her parents this past summer.

State police arrested Maggie Spencer, 21, of Brewster , on Sept. 13 and charged her with three counts of second-degree forgery and one count of third-degree grand larceny, all felonies.

Spencer’s parents, who reside in Cortlandt, allege that she stole from then during the summer.

Spencer was arraigned and sent to Westchester County Jail. She has since been released on bail.

She is due back in court on Sept. 24.
