Three Men Injured in Serious Car Accident in Cortlandt

Three people were seriously injured after a driver's car hit two utility poles and fell down an embankment on Croton Avenue Monday afternoon.

Three young men were seriously injured in a one-car accident at the intersection of Croton Avenue and Sassinoro Boulevard in Cortlandt Monday around 12:30 p.m., state police said.

Valon Rraci, a 20-year-old Cortlandt Manor resident, was driving a 2003 White Mercedes Benz, at a high rate of speed southbound on Croton Ave. He lost control of the car, struck two utility poles, and landed down an embankment on the west side of the roadway. The vehicle was also occupied by 18-year-olds Vincent McMorrow and Albert Tapia, both also of Cortland Manor. Mohegan Lake EMS transported the three to Westchester Medical Center. State police are still investigating the accident and are asking who may have witnessed the accident to contact SP Cortlandt at (914)737-7171.
