Police: Shoplifters at Kohl's Attempted to Steal $1,000 Worth of Goods

Shoplifting $1,000 Worth of Items from Kohls
Monday, June 11 –6:45 p.m. – Westchester County Police arrested two persons after they were detained by store security at Kohl’s department store on Route 6 and accused of shoplifting.

Keri Ross, 27, and Katherine McGuiness, 24, were each charged with Petit Larceny, a misdemeanor. Ross is accused of trying to leave the store with $614 in merchandise while McGuiness is accused of trying to leave with $498 worth of merchandise.
Ross was also charged with Failure to Pay a Fine based on a warrant that had been issued by White Plains City Court.

The two women are due in Cortlandt Town Court on June 25.

Panic Alarm at Maple Ave. Deli
11:52 a.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to an activated panic alarm at a deli on Maple Avenue. The alarm had been triggered in error by a technician working on the system.
Accidental 911 Call
9:06 p.m. – Westchester County Police responded to a residence on Furnace Dock Road after receiving a hang-up on a 911 call. The homeowner advised he was having trouble using a prepaid long distance phone card and dialed 911 by accident.
Friday, June 8
Verbal Abuse While Leaving Court
8:28 a.m. – A resident of Susan Lane who was involved in a small claims court case reported to Westchester County Police that he was verbally harassed by two men that he brought a claim against as he left Cortlandt Town Court. He asked for a report on his allegation because he plans to seek an Order of Protection against the parties involved.
Loud Music at Night
10:40 p.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to a residence on Cherry Place on a complaint of loud music and yelling. Residents at the home agreed to turn down the music due to the hour.
Police: Contractor’s Fight Over Equipment
Wednesday, June 6 – 5:19 p.m. – Westchester County Police responded to a residence on Crompond Road due to a dispute between two contractors. One of the contractors said he had left a piece of equipment with the other contractor who was now refusing to return it because of a business dispute. The item was returned after the officer’s arrival.
