Peekskill Police: Driver Hides Cocaine in His Sock

A 55-year-old Peekskill man is facing a misdemeanor drug charge after police found him to be in possession of cocaine, officials said.

Peekskill police officers Matt Basso, and Dan Labodin of the Anti-Crime Unit, stopped a vehicle at about 6:45 p.m. Nov. 1 for a routine traffic violation on the 1,200 block of Main Street.

"Upon approaching the vehicle the officers observed the driver attempting to conceal two small bags of crack cocaine in his sock," authorities said in a statement.

Police charged the driver with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He posted $500 bail. He was due in court today (Nov. 11).
