Home Surveillance System Catches Burglar Red Handed

A Fairlawn Ave. resident installed a camera in his home after items were going missing.

The following was provided by the _. It does not indicate a conviction:

A Peekskill homeowner noticed items had been disappearing from inside his home in the last several weeks so he installed a video surveillance system, police said. On April 24 around 1 p.m., while the resident was monitoring the video, he saw an individual in his Fairlawn Ave. home. Police responded to his call and located 19-year-old Pleasantville resident Jordan Carty exiting from the back of the house. Police say he was in possession of a bag of jewelry that they later learned was stolen from inside.

Carty was charged with second-degree burglary, a felony offense, and taken into custody without incident. He was remanded to the Westchester County Jail following his arraignment.

How could the homeowner have created a nuisance? They were robbed. How would you feel?

My company makes this type of home video surveillance system and we have a better version of motion that only records when something important is happening. And we have mobile apps. http://www.iwatchlife.com/ip-security-camera

Jordan is a great kid and this is a huge shock! There are things that people don't know that contributed to his behavior. Trust me, he is very remorseful and saddened by his actions. He'll learn from this and will be a better man.
