Facebook Prank Leads to Cortlandt Teen's Arrest

A Cortlandt Manor teen who attends Walter Panas High School was arrested after he allegedly hacked into another student's Facebook page and posted an inappropriate image on it.

A 14-year-old Walter Panas High School student from Cortlandt is due in Family Court next week after he allegedly accessed another student’s Facebook page and replaced the profile picture with an inappropriate image.

State police charged the student with unauthorized use of a computer, a misdemeanor, Monday after they were alerted of the incident. Police said the student unlawfully entered the Facebook account and replaced the profile with an image of another male's genitalia.

Police declined to release the student’s name.

The student is scheduled to appear in Westchester County Family Court on Oct. 17.
