A man who allegedly menaced another driver with a handgun was arrested two weeks following the incident and found with crack cocaine packaged for sale, New York State Police said.
In what police called a “road rage incident” on Route 9A in Cortlandt on March 1, the suspect, 29-year-old Cortlandt resident Akil Webster, is alleged to have exited his car and menaced the other driver involved with a silver handgun before fleeing the scene. Police investigated the incident and arrested Webster outside of Walmart in the on March 15.
Following Webster’s arrest, police found crack cocaine packaged for sale in his car. Webster has connections to Cortlandt, Peekskill, Yonkers, Mount Vernon and Beacon areas.
He was arrested for second degree menacing, third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (with intent to sell), and fourth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
He was arraigned in the Town Of Cortlandt Justice Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $125,000 bail.
