Cortlandt Man Arrested for Hosting Underage Drinking Party

New York State Police responded to a call for a disturbance and discovered an underage drinking party at a residence.

The following information was provided by New York State Police:

On November 30th, 2012, at about 11:10 p.m., units from the New York State Police at Cortlandt responded to the area of Lexington Avenue and Dares Lane in the Town of Cortlandt (Westchester County) for a report of a disturbance.

Once units arrived, it was determined that an underage drinking party being hosted by David Hinkkanen, age 55, of 3115 Lexington Avenue had become uncontrolled and altercations had spilled out onto the street.

After an investigation, Hinkkanen was charged by Troopers with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child in the 1st degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, all Class "A" Misdemeanors.

At this time, it is unclear how Hinkkanen knows the youths he was hosting, all of whom are approximately 15-17 years of age. Hinkkanen is being held pending arraignment in the Town of Cortlandt Court.

Anyone with information regarding Hinkkanen or last nights events are asked to contact the New York State Police at Cortlandt at (914) 737-7171. All calls will be kept confidential.
