If Andy and his pals have their way, the state is going to sanction using pot with a slap on the wrist, great message to send to our kids.

I think you have my comment a little confused. Not only do I think it is great that the Police are hunting down the distribution of coc, Oxy, crack, and heroin on the streets, but maybe this will stop the movement of it from the streets into the schools. In addition, you mention pot, sorry, but I also do not agree with Cuomo on this one. Every time we lower the bar of punishment, every time we lower the standards of what is acceptable or tolerable in society we just keep heading down a more slippery slope towards encouraging irresponsibility, and poor judgement. Any why do we keep lowering the bar? Why? Just because that's what "everyone wants or needs" ? We have become a society of immediate gratification, no patience, envy, and jealousy and all this increased leniency just keeps adding onto the pile of screwup kids who will be expected to run the country into the next generation. Pot breeds the use of the next drug; we've been told this for years study after study. I know adults in my own circle who do it constantly and have the time have their heads in the clouds and their kids following in their footsteps and experimenting with more and more junk. If we don't keep up traditional enforcement, support the police in long time established laws - we are in deep trouble.
