Car Slides out of Parking Spot, Pins Driver's Leg

Croton EMS and firefighters extricated a Skyview Nursing Home staffer trapped on an icy hill.

Firefighters extricated a man this afternoon whose car slid out of a parking space toward a hill, pinning the driver's leg between his open car door and a small tree.

The man, a worker at Sky View Rehabilitation and Health Care, 1280 Albany Post Road, was leaving for the day when his car skidded in the parking lot at about 1:15 p.m.

"I'm not sure how he did it," said Croton fire Chief John Munson. "Somehow the car went forward and he pinned himself between the door and the tree."
