Mayor Foster is one of only six female mayors running for office in the empire state to receive Eleanor's Legacy's endorsement.

Mayor Foster says that she has long admired Eleanor Roosevelt. "As a leader of a community, I have long felt a deep responsibility to those around me, to the people I represent; I can't think of a better example of a strong, caring woman than Ms. Roosevelt and I am honored to have the support of the organization which bears her name."

The organization noted that Mayor Foster "has the skills to win in November" and lead the Peekskill Community.

The Eleanor's Legacy Organization has a long history of supporting politically active and engaged women in New York State.  Many of our country's historic female leaders have come from New York State including Former First Lady, Senator, and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, and Nydia Velazquez and Grace Meng, the first Puerto Rican and Asian-American, respectively,  to represent New York State in Congress.
