Online Campaign Aimed at Raising Money for Montrose's Ferrari Family

An online campaign aimed at raising money for the family of James Ferrari, the 59-year-old Montrose resident who died in Sunday's train derailment, had reached about $3,600 as of Thursday evening. The goal is $100,000.

A similar online campaign has netted about $105,000 for the family of of Jim Lovell, the 58-year-old Cold Spring resident who also died in the accident. Lovell's wake was Thursday (Dec. 5), as were funeral services for Ferrari.

Several donors left comments with their contributions.

"Although I did not get to meet him, I know that this man, James M. Ferrari came from a wonderful family. My heart goes out to them all."

"We're going to miss you Uncle Jimmy, and we'll be there for Aunt Francie and Rebecca with whatever they need in the coming weeks."

"We wish the Ferrari family strength through this difficult time and express our deepest sympathies."
