My Musical Holiday Events This Weekend in Peekskill!

Holiday Music Events by Mary Crescenzo and Paul Mesches at Kathleen's Tea Room and The Bean Runner Cafe in Peekskill this weekend.

As the holidays approach, I think about how many of our Christmas and holiday songs were written and made popular during the 30's, 40's, and 50s'.  A good song is a good song, so no wonder that these tunes, done in swing, rock and roll, and ballads, have remained in our hearts and on the radio and TV all of these years.

Artists do their own versions to keep these tunes fresh, and, in keeping with that, Paul Mesches (guitar) and I (on vocals), will be bringing these tunes to Kathleen's Tea Room in Peekskill, on Saturday, Dec. 15, 6 - 9PM, and to The Bean Runner Cafe in Peekskill, on Sunday, December 16, 4:45PM, door open.  To add to the festivities, we will be part of the Holiday Crawl and Santacon that travels through the streets and venues in Peekskill on Saturday while we are at Kathleen's, where revelers dress in Santa gear and move from location to location in celebration.  On Sunday, at The Bean Runner, we will be joined by two young and talented singers, Nicole and Leslie, as we all perform holiday tunes you know in rock, reggae, and swing mode.  At the Bean, opening for us will be a dramatic reading of Twas the Night Before Christmas by actor Richard Manichello, who will bring this poem and its author, Clement Moore - once an Ossining resident - to life on stage in its entirety.  Reservations in both cases are strongly suggested.

For more info, go to the repective websites, and come and sing along and enjoy this music live!  Hope to see you there...HOHOHO!
