A ROCKETTE OUT OF LINE: Ask an ExRockette to tell you What Goes on BEHIND the Kick Line at Radio City

ExRockette and Emmy Award-winning actress Jennifer Jiles wants to quench that curiosity and tell you what really goes on as a Rockette, before, during and after Radio City. Ask her anything...

Okay, the very first day I told someone I was a Rockette, they fired about 40 questions at me in under a minute.  (insert tasteless NYPD take down joke here). This continues to this day, except that now I giggle and say "come see my show" or "check out my website" or "take my KICKED INTO SHAPE BOOT CAMP, pay $10, get a great workout and ask away" or "wait, I'm writing a book!"  All true, feel free to do any of those.   AND feel free to ask me here.

Tina! Yay! Back in the day, when I was in the show, I was a Herald Trumpeter (floor length silver lamet robes complete with puffy hat with white plume feathers pulled down over one eye so that no one recognized me) , a big head dancing drummer bear in the Nutcracker scene (yes, I felt hot and sexy, actually hot and sweaty), a woman in the Dickens scene (some Rockettes played men, or as we affectionately called them "Dick Men"), did 5 Rockette numbers, and was the only real Jew in the Living Nativity. 6 out of the 9 were quick changes executed in the quick change rooms next to the camel stall. High glamour. P.U.
