Peekskill-Cortlandt Patch Home of the Week: March 23 Edition

Columnist Joel Heumann with his weekly take on gems in the local housing market.

There's no other community in the Westchester/Putnam area that has so many cool properties and diverse of housing options at such reasonable prices.

This week's Home of the Week “award” goes to 536 Oakridge Parkway in Peekskill. Sporting a Historic Peekskill Preservation Award plaque near the front door, this 1927 Tudor sits on a half-acre lot and offers a substantial 2,650 square feet of living space. Not shoddy for only $389,900.

The home has four bedrooms, three full baths and a powder room, walk-in closets, a large screened-in porch and formal living and dining rooms. There's one fireplace in the living room and another in the den. The warm patina of old wood moldings, beamed ceilings and original architectural details throughout makes this a house very well worth considering.

Nancy Kennedy of Houlihan Lawrence is the listing agent for this property. She can be reached at 914-271-5500 or email NancyKennedy@Realtor.com.
