Suzane Sadofsky, a 50-year Cortlandt Manor resident, will be inducted into the Westchester Senior Citizens Hall of Fame next month.
"I was shocked," she said, recalling when she heard the news. "I am very proud."
Sadofsky, a retired teacher who taught locally, is president of Inner Wheel USA, an international service organization for women. The sister club to Rotary International, Inner Wheel provides prosthetics to children who are born without an arm or hand, or those who have lost one because of a disease or accident.
She's also involved in the Transplant Support Organization, a not-for-profit that gives support to transplant donor, recipients and more across the area, and a past chair of the Cortlandt Republican Committee.
The induction ceremony is scheduled for Dec. 6 at the Westchester Marriott Hotel in Tarrytown.
