Don’t miss Vy Higginsen’s Gospel for Teens Choir, a nationally recognized and award winning ensemble. The subject of an acclaimed “60 Minutes” profile in 2011 (which garnered two daytime Emmy awards), the choir is comprised of talented young performers who received their training through Gospel for Teens, a program of Ms. Higginsen’s Mama Foundation and her School of Gospel, Jazz and R&B Arts. The Gospel for Teens Choir took the grand prize in the open division at the 2011 Pathmark Gospel Choir Competition of Harlem. In addition to “60 Minutes,” the choir’s other national TV appearances include performances on “The Celebrity Apprentice,” “The CBS Early Show,” and “The Nate Berkus Show.
Currently The Gospel for Teens Choir appear in the Off-Broadway production of Mama, I Want to Sing: The Next Generation.
