"Memoirs of a Magic Queen" + Opening of the 1929 High School Time Capsule

Peekskill Certified Artist Margaret Steele will present a very unusual photo lecture.  Ms Steele is a magician, historian and the editor of the book “Adelaide Herrmann, Queen of Magic–Memoirs, Published Writings and Collected Ephemera.” Ms Steele, a world-recognized authority on Madame Herrmann, will present a lecture rich with photos and colorful magic posters. In addition, she will perform several of Adelaide Herrmann’s magical illusions.

In addition to Ms Steele’s program on 9/15, we plan to open up the old Peekskill High School cornerstone that we acquired when the building was being demolished to make way for the new Middle School. The cornerstone was laid in 1929 and is known to contain newspapers, photographs and coins from that era.

We are considering replacing those items with contemporary artifacts and thus creating a time capsule for future generations. If you have any suggestions for items to include please bring them.
