Town Hall Meeting on County Budget Scheduled Tonight in Peekskill

The topic of tonight's meeting will be cuts to the health centers and county daycare programs that are being proposed in Westchester County Executive Robert Astorino's budget proposal.

Hudson River Health Care, the Child Care Council of Westchester County  and the Open Door Medical Center are organizing a special town hall meeting tonight at 7 p.m., inside the Park Street A.M.E. Zion Church, located on 1220 Park Street in Peekskill.

The meeting is being held to urge county lawmaker to restore cuts to child care and health centers that were made in Westchester County Executive Robert Astorino's $1.7 billion budget proposal.

His proposal would cut $3 million from the three community health centers located in Mt. Vernon, Peekskill and Ossining. It would also increase minimum contributions made by parents to county day care programs from 20 percent above the poverty level to up to 35 percent.

County legislators Lyndon Williams, Catherine Borgia and MaryJane Shimsky are expected to be in attendance at tonight’s meeting.

With all due respect to Rev.Phillips thank you for what you do...but maybe Anne Nolan should give up some of that $400.000 salary she gets,or how about this they use some of that $20.000.000 they have in the reserve..Stop making the Community think that the Hudson River Health Care is in danger of closing,or shortage of offering services..The fact is with Obamacare there will be no shortage of care....#usewhatyougotstashed.....

You got an Amen from me, Lee. Read their IRS 990s, more than half HRC's budget goes to "executive" salaries, and they have a nice reserve. But what about the people they serve? Their salaries are obscene for a non-profit. Doesn't seem right to me.
