Town Hall Meeting on County Budget Scheduled Tonight in Peekskill

The topic of tonight's meeting will be cuts to the health centers and county daycare programs that are being proposed in Westchester County Executive Robert Astorino's budget proposal.

Hudson River Health Care, the Child Care Council of Westchester County  and the Open Door Medical Center are organizing a special town hall meeting tonight at 7 p.m., inside the Park Street A.M.E. Zion Church, located on 1220 Park Street in Peekskill.

The meeting is being held to urge county lawmaker to restore cuts to child care and health centers that were made in Westchester County Executive Robert Astorino's $1.7 billion budget proposal.

His proposal would cut $3 million from the three community health centers located in Mt. Vernon, Peekskill and Ossining. It would also increase minimum contributions made by parents to county day care programs from 20 percent above the poverty level to up to 35 percent.
