Solstice/Mayan Celebration at the Blue Mountain Reservation
When/Where:Trail Lodge at Blue Mountain Reservation, 111 Welcher Ave. in Peekskill, Friday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m.
Why Go: The trail Lodge at Blue Mountain Reservation is hosting a winter solstice celebration to mark the end of Mayan calendar on Friday at 7 p.m. Attendees will celebrate the rebirth of consciousness and respect for mother earth, drum, eat together, share visions for a new world and listen to wisdom from all ages. When/Where: Paramount Center for The Arts, 1008 Brown St. in Peekskill, Saturday, Dec. 22 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 23 at 6 p.m.
Why Go: The Paramount is opening their doors and lighting the Marque to celebrate the Holidays on Saturday, Dec. 22, at 2:00 and 6:00 pm, and on Sunday, Dec. 23, at 6 pm, to present “Yes, Virginia the Musical,” joyful holiday entertainment for the entire family . Co- produced by Antonia Arts from Peekskill and Rising Stars from Yonkers.
Pricing: $22 for adults, $12 for students/seniors $12. Paramount membership card holders pay $18 for adult tickets and $8 for seniors. Groups of 10 adults pay $150 and groups of 10 Seniors pay $100.
Andrea Elam & Synapses Dance Ensemble to Perform at EMBARK
When/Where:Energy Movement Center, 925 South St. in Peekskill, Saturday, Dec. 22 at 3 p.m.
Why Go: Embark is hosting Artist/Board Member Andrea Elam and Synapses Dance Ensemble as they present excerpts of A Snowy Night in Peekskill at 3 p.m. Saturday. Enjoy holiday food, favors, great music and dancing! The suggested donation will benefit Fred’s Pantry. Please RSVP by contacting Elam at aelam@hotmail.com or (914) 393-5751.

Local Fire Departments to Hold Santa Run Sunday
When/Where: Various locations in the Montrose Fire District (Check here for routes), Sunday, Dec. 23, beginning at 1 p.m.
Why Go: Cortlandt Engine Company No. 1 and the Montrose Fire Department postponed there annual holiday visit from Sunday, Dec. 16 to Sunday, Dec. 23 at 1 p.m. Firefighters will stop at various locations throughout the Montrose Fire District distributing candy canes and coloring books to the children of the community.
