Santa Run Postponed, Crisis Team at Peekskill School, Special Peekskill Council Meeting

Five things you should know for today, Dec. 17.

1.) Peekskill Officials Meet Tonight
Peekskill city officials are scheduled to meet tonight for special meeting and a workshop. The special meeting is being held to extend the city’s early retirement incentive program to an additional employee. The agenda for tonight’s workshop meeting is attached to this story.

2.) Crisis Team to Assemble at Peekskill Schools
The Peekskill school district will have its crisis team ready to assist the children as they return to school today, following the events that transpired in Newtown, Conn.

3.) Local Fire Departments Postpone Santa Run Due to Weather Concerns
Cortlandt Engine Company No. 1 and the Montrose Fire Department postponed there annual holiday visit from Sunday, Dec. 16 to Sunday, Dec. 23 at 1 p.m. Firefighters will stop at various locations throughout the Montrose Fire District distributing candy canes and coloring books to the children of the community. 4.) Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Phelps Hospital In Croton
A Grand Opening Ceremony has been scheduled for Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in Croton-on-Hudson. The facility is located in the ShopRite Plaza, at 440 South Riverside Avenue.
