Paramount Proposals Revealed, Lincoln Dinner Reservations, Stay-Awake-A-Thon Kickoff

Five things you should know for today, Feb. 5.

1.) Peekskill Common Council to Announce Paramount Management Candidates
The Peekskill Common Council is expected to announce the three proposals that they’ve received to manage the Paramount Center of the Performing Arts today. Last night,  the council heard suggestions from a special search committee that was set up earlier this year to select the best proposal.  

2.) Peekskill School Board Meets Tonight
The Peekskill Board of Education is scheduled to meet tonight inside the district administration building, located at 1031 Elm St. 7 p.m. The public portion of tonight’s meeting is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Check here for a recap of tonight’s agenda.

3.) Cortlandt Planning Board Meets Tonight
Cortlandt planning officials are scheduled to meet tonight at 7 p.m.  in town hall, located at 1 Heady St. in Cortlandt Manor. Check here for an agenda and additional information.

4.) Lincoln Society Still Taking Reservations for Anniversary Dinner on Saturday
There’s still time reserve a spot for the Lincoln Society’s 109th Anniversary Dinner Saturday. The black tie  starts at 6 p.m. inside the Colonial Terrace and Ballroom, located on 119 Oregon Rd. in Cortlandt Manor, and takes place following the annual Lincoln Parade in Peekskill.  The event costs per person $95 and features an open bar, dinner and dancing. The keynote speech will be given by noted Civil War historian James Oakes. Proceed will go toward the Lincoln Society. 5.) Kick-Off Event for the Hen Hud Leos Stay-Awake-A-Thon
The Hen Hud Leos are hosting the kickoff for their annual Stay-Awake-A-Thon tonight at 7 p.m. inside the library of the Hendrick Hudson High School, located at 2166 Albany Post Rd. in Montrose.The Stay-Awake-A-Thon, which takes place May 4 at the high school, is a fun, team-based, overnight event aimed at raising money to support the Hudson Valley Hospital Cancer Center, Happiness is Camping, Maria Fareri Children's Hospital and The Kathleen F. Marks Foundation. Guest speakers will tell stories about the impact cancer has had on their lives. All registered teams will be put in a raffle for free movie tickets.
