Freezing Rain, Delayed School Openings, Animal Rescue Fundraiser at the Quiet Man

Five things you should know for today, Feb. 11.

1.) Snow and Freezing Rain in Store for Morning Commute

The National Weather Service is forecasting snow and freezing rain before 9 a.m. this morning. Patchy fog and light winds are also expected this morning. Today's high temperature is expected to reach the mid-40s, before dropping to the low 30s at night.

2.) Peekskill School on Two-Hour Delay

The Peekskill school district is operating a two-hour delay today. Morning pre-kindergarten classes have been cancelled. 

3.) Peekskill Common Council Meets Tonight

The Peekskill Common Council has a workshop tonight scheduled for 6:30 p.m., and a meeting scheduled at 7:30 p.m.  Agenda are attached to this story.

4.) Cortlandt Work Session Scheduled Tonight

The Cortlandt town board has a work session scheduled for tonight at town hall, located on 1 Heady St. in Cortlandt Manor. Go here for more information.

5.) Animal Rescue Fundraiser at the Quiet Man Pub in Peekskill

The Quiet Man Public House in Peekskill is hosting the "All They Need is Love" fundraiser for animal rescue. There will be live music, guest bartenders, food and raffles. There is no entrance fee, but organizers ask that attendees tip generously. All money raised will be used to fund animal rescue efforts.
