On Saturday, May 5th at 10pm the Stay Awake a thon will hold their Luminere ceremony. This is a time when we remember those who lost their battle with cancer. There will be songs, a guest speaker, and a bagpiper who will lead us through a candlelit path for a time of reflection where we remember those who lost their battle, and celebrate their life. We will have a slide show with photos of those we want to remember. If you want us to share in remembering the life of a loved one who lost their battle, please send a photo to dylan gambardella at dylan.gambardella@gmail.com and we will post it.

A recent study actually shows that the highest homicide rates are in the states with the fewest gun controls. States like Louisiana, South Carolina, Mississippi and Alaska just to name a few.
Sure, there are fewer homicides in Alaska than in New York, but adjusted for population, the per-ca-pita homicide rate is significantly lower in New York.
