Who Said Hospital Food Isn't Tasty?

It may not be the obvious location for a taste test event, but culinary experts are promising the fare will be especially flavorful.

Chefs at Hudson Valley Hospital Center will be hosting a taste test Tuesday afternoon, spotlighting a new food service that relies on from-scratch cooking and seasonal ingredients, officials told Patch.

"Chef Noah Sheetz of Cura Hospitality will do a tasting and cooking demonstration of Hospital food using locally grown produce from Hudson Valley Hospital Center’s Farmer’s Market," said Victoria Hochman, a hospital spokeswoman.

WHERE: Hudson Valley Hospital Center Farmers’ Market, 1980 Crompond Road,  Cortlandt Manor, NY 10567.

WHEN: Tuesday, July 23 at 1 p.m.

WHAT: Cura Hospitality works with local farms to make sure that the Hospital gets the freshest local produce and anti-biotic free poultry. They strive to eliminate pre-packaged and  processed foods, cooking most things from scratch. Cura Hospitality’s commitment to  sourcing local produce fits in well with HVHC’s Harvest for Health Initiatives, including  the on-campus organic garden and twice-monthly Farmer’s Markets. Cura began providing food services for the hospital’s patients as well as the hospital café in May.
