Westchester Magazine Notes Paradise Restaurant's 'Nostalgic Ambience'

The 65-year-old Verplanck family restaurant was recognized for its nostalgic feel.

Westchester Magazine picked Verplanck's from among the hundreds of historic restaurants in Westchester County, to be included on a list of places with "nostalgic ambience," in its May issue. Paradise was one of 12 restaurants chosen in the article; many of the others were in southern Westchester.

WestMag writer Jeanne Muchnick mentioned Paradise's delicious thin-crust pizza, made in-house, cream puffs and pasta. She also noted the menus from 1961 that the owners still keep at the restaurant that list steak for $4.

Muchnick writes:

"The 65-year-old family-run eatery is still as unpretentious as ever, filled with people who seem to know each other and who welcome you with open arms if they don’t."
