Skies Clear for 3rd Annual Festa Italiana

"Westchester's Biggest Italian Street Fair" runs through Sunday.

Rainy skies cleared and blue sky poked through the clouds yesterday afternoon, just in time for Peekskill's third annual Festa Italian to kick off with a procession for Our Lady of the Assumption.

The festival offers Italian music, rides, games, classic Italian food - pizza, zeppole, rice balls, chicken Parmesan, sausage and peppers, drinks and more.

The ceremony honoring two community members with a Distinguished Italian Citizen award was moved to 12 p.m. Saturday. It was originally scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday but was postponed due to the possibility of rain.
