THE CHARLIE DANIELS BAND

Born in Wilmington, NC, Charlie Daniels, the son of a lumberjack, is a Southerner by birth. His music – rock, country, bluegrass, blues, gospel – is quintessentially Southern. Following the release of his hit song “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” which became a platinum single and topped both country and pop charts, Charlie Daniels went on to win a Grammy Award and became an international phenomenon. The song became a cornerstone of the Urban Cowboy movie which earned him even more awards.
