Slam! Poetry at the Field Library featuring Megan Thoma

April is National Poetry month, and on Wednesday, April 6th, The Field Library in Peekskill is proud to present visiting poet Megan Thoma!

Look for us during the day in the Peekskill Schools, and then join us at the Field Library at 3:30 sharp for poetry, fun and free refreshments!

Megan Thoma is a writer and teacher living in Providence, RI.  She has represented Providence at the National Poetry Slam, the Individual World Poetry Slam, and the Women of the World Slam and is the New England NorthBeast grand slam champion.  Her work has appeared in McSweeney's Internet Tendency, decomP, Legendary, Little White Poetry Journal, Muzzle, and Bestiary.  Organizer and slam legend Simone Beaubien says Megan is a, "master of the tender and the obscene, the mildly horrifying and gut-wrenchingly hilarious."

Megan Thoma is visiting Westchester at the invitation of Eric “ZORK” Alan, the host of Poetry Slams at the White Plains Public Library and the Yonkers Public Library.
