Local artists Judith Solomon and Steven Spiegel, who run the Innovative Arts gallery at 1 South Division St., coordinate "First Friday" events every month.
On the first friday of each month downtown galleries and shops are open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., later than their usual closing times, to help promote Peekskill artists, musicians and businesses.
This Friday, Jan. 7 visitors can stop by 17 different locations to view art work, shop for some unique clothing or gifts, and learn about the different studio spaces and galleries in town. Antonia Arts has invited the public to stop by the Paramount Theater from 5 to 8 p.m. to watch the dress rehearsal of the production company's Annie, playing this weekend.
