EMBARK|Peekskill Hosts Family Poetry Party Saturday

A celebration of national poetry month EMBARK is inviting the public to come create, perform and sing poems.

This information is from EMBARK: In celebration of national poetry month EMBARK|Peekskill – a not-for-profit coalition of performing & literary artists from Peekskill and surrounding communities will host a Family Poetry Party on Saturday April 14, from 1:30-3:30 pm at Energy Movement Center, 925 South Street, Peekskill.  Cost is $5 for children, $10 for adults.  Reservations are encouraged but not required: embarkpeekskill@gmail.com.

This event is a perfect way to introduce the fun of poetry to young people.  Come and help us create poems, perform poems, sing poems, and just read them out loud with a crowd of excited young people and their families.  Bring a favorite poem of your own to read!  Spanish and other languages welcomed!  Light refreshments will be served.

EMBARK | Peekskill is committed to the establishment and development of a Performing and Literary Arts Center for Peekskill as a home and venue.  Their goal is to partner and collaborate with artists, arts alliances, and supporters of the arts.  EMBARK seeks to encourage understanding of the role the arts play in building community and in celebrating diversity.
