Copland House Offers an American Journey

This Sunday join Copland House at Merestead for acclaimed composer Dan Visconti's sonata, "Americana."

This Sunday, March 11, Merestead will play host to the music of an acclaimed young composer's monumental work, "Americana."

Profiled by The New York Times, the Copland House event, American Journey, features cellist Joshua Roman and pianist Zsolt Bognar, who bring Dan Visconti's piece to life. The work was inspired by five beloved American songs, weaving them into melodies ringing with national pride, collective identity and the more private emotions of sacrifice and duty.

Pianist and Copland House Artistic and Executive Director Michael Boriskin will also team up with Roman for Westchester master Samuel Barber's impassioned 1936 classic, Sonata for Cello and Piano.
