Win Twice for Being Best Decked Holiday House

Patch is offering a chance to win $100,000 for your local schools and the Peekskill Trolley Company and BID are offering an award for best-decorated house and storefront.

Peekskill and Cortlandt’s holiday spirit is already showing everywhere you go. Santa’s mailbox is set up in Buchanan and Cortlandt, downtown Peekskill is glittering with holiday lights and advent and menorah lights can be seen in windows throughout town.

If you have the holiday spirit, and lights, this season, let us know!

Patch has launched a Deck the Halls holiday contest. Semi-finalists will have their electric bills for the month of December paid by Patch and the winner will be awarded $100,000 towards their local schools! $100,000!

You submit your photo on Patch starting December 8. Patch users can then vote on the Best Decked House in their neighborhood. The winner of that will represent our towns in the national contest.

Then, Patch judges will vote on the winners from all 860 Patch towns nationwide and select 24 finalists who will compete at the national level. The 24 finalists each will have their electric bills paid by Patch for the month of December (up to $500)!

The winner of the best-decked house out of the 24 finalists will be awarded $100,000 towards their local schools!

The contest officially begins on Dec. 8 so stay tuned.

Not only can you win Patch’s prize for best decked house, but the Peekskill Trolley Company is conducting around Peekskill. Stella the trolley will be all decked out for the holidays, and holiday music will fill the air (riders are encouraged to sing along) as they tour the neighborhoods looking for the Best Decorated House and Downtown Window.  

The best decorated house they find will win an award from the Company. Also, the Peekskill Business Improvement District is offering an award for the  best dressed downtown storefront/window. Trolley tours will conclude with hot chocolate and cookies at the

Homeowners who would like their house included in the tour and contest should call (914) 739-5408 and leave their name and address on the machine if no one answers. You can also email your address to Patch at Elizabeth.giegerich@patch.com and I will make sure that Trolley company knows to swing by to check out your house.
