Regional Senior Forum July 24 Will Cover Taxes, Health Care, Free Money and More

Seniors from Briarcliff, Cortlandt, Ossining, Peekskill and Putnam Valley are invited to attend Sandy Galef's breakfast forum tomorrow.

Issues of importance to local senior citizens—changes to the state's STAR property tax abatement program, medical information and health care funding—top the list of topics to be discussed at a free breakfast forum for senior citizens hosted by state Assemblywoman Sandra Galef.

Also on the agenda is a speaker from the state Comptroller's Office, to talk about the millions of dollars in unclaimed funds sitting in the state coffers, and how to find out if any of it belongs to you.

There will be a special piano performance by Susan Kafer, an Ossining High School graduate and music teacher.

The event is co-sponsored by 12 local senior citizens' groups: Briarcliff Manor Senior Citizens, Buchanan Senior Citizens Club, Cortlandt Seniors, Crompond Seniors, Croton Senior Citizens, Nor-Cort Seniors, Ossining Golden Age Club, Ossining Senior Center, Ossining Senior Citizens, Peekskill Senior Citizen’s Club, Putnam Valley Seniors, Verplanck Seniors, plus the Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services and the Putnam County Office of the Aging.

It will take place at Cortlandt Town Hall, 1 Heady St., Cortlandt Manor.
