Guide to Peekskill Jazz and Blues Fest

Everything you need to know for the Peekskill Jazz and Blues Festival on July 30.

While musicians are tuning up for the Peekskill festival this Saturday, spectators need to do some preparing as well. Here is what you need to know before you go. 

Music starts Ester Street (across from the Paramount Theater) at 2 p.m. and Tony Pastrana and The NY Latin Jazz Band will play from then until 4 p.m.

After that head over to the main stage at the gazebo on the intersection of Central Ave. and N. Division Street with music playing from 4:30 p.m. to 10p.m. Headliner Tommy Castro and the Akoya Afro-beat Ensemble will perform from 8:45 to 10 p.m. there.

This part of the festival will be hosted by WBGO Jazz Radio's Gary Walker. 

There will also be tables and chairs set up for restaurant food service on the street.

The specific times for each band at the gazebo are as follows: 

Akoya Afrobeat Ensemble: 5:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. 
Chris Massey Nu Jazz Project: 6:15p.m. to 7:15p.m. 
The Curtis Brothers Quartet: 7:30p.m. to 8:30p.m. 
Tommy Castro Band: 8:45p.m. to 10p.m.

While music plays on the main stage, a craft market will be set up on Park Street from 3 to 8 p.m. The Busienss Improvement District  Farmers Market will also be open from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m, also on Park Street.

Throughout the day food vendors will be serving burgers, hot dogs, and Spanish food, and  Goose Island Craft Beers will have 6 specialty beers for the day. Peekskill restaurantes are also gearing up and will be open with indoor and outdoor seating. Most will be continuing the live music (and the party) inside after 10 p.m.

What to know for traffic and parking:

These streets will be closed from 7am till 11pm:

Central Ave/Park St from Nelson to Bank St.

S. Division St from South St to Park St.

N. Division St. from Park St to Main St.

*Ester St. from S.Division St., to Brown St will be closed from 11am till 6pm

There will be parking at the James St. Garageparking on Central Ave. and Water St. and at Peekskill High School. Street and Meter parking is free on Saturday.

Trolly Rides will possibly be available from parking and the train station.
